Our family stayed in the Outlaw wing 8/28/25 through 9/2/25 for Labor Day and a school reunion. The floor was fantastic for gathering as a family. The den was used for coffee drinking and football game watching. The bathrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. All questions/requests were answered very quickly. The grocery store next door was perfect for getting drinks & snacks. Would highly recommend this great historic hotel in a centrally located town. Very safe, quiet, and clean.

The room was spectacular (Wedding Wing) We had a little hiccup getting the codes but the nice guy working at the brewery down the street saved the day. It was such a beautiful and historic building and I would definitely suggest you visit the brewery too!!

We stayed in the "Outlaw Block" and had a great time! The location was perfect for our two families (plus kiddos) to share a big common area while still having two bathrooms and private bedrooms connected by hallway. The hotel itself is a gem: really cool touches everywhere you look. I would have loved to have been able to see the bar/ballroom areas, but they were locked and we didn't ask. Our point of contact (Colby) was responsive and helpful, and I'm guessing he would have unlocked it for us if we had asked. My wife and brother-in-law worked on their computers in the lobby (good internet), which is a beautiful space. Overall, really enjoyed staying here!

We had a girl's overnight with six of us celebrationg a birthday. When I first started inquiring about the property and making a reservation, Colby, one of the owners, and the manager Amanda were very responsive and accomodating! It was our first time to explore Hartington and we loved that everything we wanted to do and see was within walking distance. The hotel is a gem! The Gatsby Suite was perfect for our stay. The beds are very comfortable and the place was very clean and decorated beautifully. The self check in was easy. Having our own private common area made for a perfect stay! It is wonderful that the hotel was brought back to it's original charm to allow for a step back in time for all to enjoy! There are several great shops and places to explore...everyone was very welcoming and friendly. All six of us had a memorable time and highly recommend the Hotel Hartington!!

This was such a quirky stay, and we loved each minute once we could access the building. Since we arrived after hours, we struggled to access the hotel via the exterior, locked doors because we had reserved our rooms with a larger party and didn't have immediate access to the confirmation email and information. However, the owners were accessible via phone and provided prompt support until we could connect with our party. I can't even imagine the liveliness of the hotel back in the day and man, I wish we could have experienced it. But, I am so glad we had the opportunity to stay here and explore the grounds. Each room is beautiful and the amenities are too. We had the perfect size room for our stay and the bathroom was just down the hall. The large common area in the Outlaw Wing was so perfect for our friends as we gathered before heading to the wedding and home the next day. I will definitely stay here again over a chain hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding I attended. We had a great time. I think the wedding had the whole hotel. It’s a beautiful place for a wedding reception and my wife said the bridal suite was fantastic for getting ready. The rooms are good sized. We had 6 rooms in our section with 3 bathrooms I believe so sharing a bathroom brought me back to my college days in the dorms but a lot cleaner here. The bathrooms are large. Just having to walk upstairs after the reception is a huge perk and the woodwork and history of the building is amazing. Doors and rooms are a little loud and squeaky but it’s what to be expected with its historical charm. Would recommend for an event in Hartington.

We stayed in the wedding wing and utilized it for the weekend. It was the perfect amount of space for the bridesmaids and a few others to get ready in! The beds were comfortable and the place was extremely clean with a lot of natural light. It was easy to get access to the building and the room and this was communicated with us in a timely manner! We also had great response and communication with the owners throughout the process as well! Would highly recommend as it is just a cool building!
